Video Wall Support
« on: September 27, 2011, 11:09:03 PM »
Will the new MS Studio 3.X release support multiple matrix video walls with full matrix screen divisions; with greater  than 2800 Pixel screen divisions? i.e. 2x2, 3x3 etc.? Will MS spec the player hardware solution for this large LCD display video wall matrices, if they are supported by MS Studio?

We already support unlimited screens and yes, per screen division 4096x4096 in 3.1

My question is specifically about support and screen division for a video wall not how many total screens can MS support.

If the max screen division size is 4096 wide that would mean the maximum size of a video wall matrix, for example, using 46" LCD displays set to a HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, would translate to a maximum sized video wall matrix, supported by MS 3.1, is 2 x 2 = (2*1920)+(2x1080) = 3840 x 2160. So, in that case the new release 3.1 with 4096 x 4096 maximum screen division pixel size would display a single content screen to cover the 2 x 2 matrix described above but not a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 matrix?

Can MS support spec hardware for video walls;  can the mediaBOX support a 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 video wall? Matrox manufactures video boards for video walls but it appears they are designed for larger cpu cases; http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/display_wall/mura_mpx_series/

In the tutorial for "Multiple Screens" we are instructed only about two screens for a  1 x 2 matrix with unequal screen resolution settings. Are there any plays for a new tutorial demonstrating support for a 2 x 2, 3 x 3, 4 x 4 video wall matrix?

You can run ANY setup you want, 1x2 4x4 3x6.. whatever you want... we will support whatever your video cards support... mediaBOX supports only  1920x1080 x 2.

But regardless of setup, limit is always: 4096x4096 per single screen division.

Simple!
