Problems with HTML5 component: not loading, not refreshing

Hi,

I'm struggling with the html5 component.
I want to use it to show a certain webpage, which shows the current occupancy of a meetingroom (sent from a meeting software tool)

So it's a asp.net page. Which is shown correctly in the browser on my laptop.
When I show it through signageplayer, it's showing a blue background which is loaded in the beginning. But all the rest of the page is not loaded.
I have this problem both on a new windows computer and on my android 4.4.2 screens.
I thought it had to do with the Webkit being outdated. So I installed the apk of chrome manually, no solution.
Nevertheless: if the webkit was the problem, it would show correctly on the windows computer.

For the windows computer I could use nodejs or launch the chrome application directly in kiosk mode.
But for my signageplayers on android it's not an option.

Do you have any tips for me? Is html5 component using it's own html engine?

this is what I see on the android tablets. It's the initial background image which is replaced with css to another background image + content.

Sorry, it won't work on the Android.  Not sure specifically what the issue is but it has something to do with the page rendering.  Should work on the Windows however there was someone else on the forum who recently posted that was having the same problem.  There are limitations with the Android devices and displaying of web pages is one of them.  If you can get a JSON feed, that would be the best option that does work with both Android and Windows devices.

Hi, it's almost one year later. And I'm still struggling with this issue.
I do have the same issue on a windows 10 computer. allthough when using Chrome or Edge for that same link, it works fine.
So the Signageplayer is using a different web-engine? I would still love to find a solution for this.

our HTML component is not HTML5 compliant therefore if your page extensively use deeply nested styles, it may not work. also it javascript engine is old.  its actually using the rendering engine of adobe air which we had been using as our base platform.

we will be updating the component as we have now moved away from adobe air.  we will be releasing the newer player before the end of the year and hopefully with the new HTML component with it
