New to this...
« on: April 27, 2011, 02:30:09 PM »
Hi all,

I'm new to screen advertising & really do need some Help/Pointers to meet my need's.

I work for a security company & we have been asked if we could do a 50" LCD display with live Weather , News & ad's for one of are long time customers,

So i have been asked to find out about it, While searching the net i came across this site & it seem's to offer everything i'm looking for but i'm still trying to get my head around it all so some of my questions might seem a little stupid but i do hope you can help :)

Also this wont be a one time job if we can get it right (With your help to get started) we will be pushing it to our other customers.

Questions...

1 - What do we need apart from the screen to have LIVE Weather & News on our screens?

2 - What is a Media Box i'm guessing it runs the screen :P but for smaller jobs is there another way ?

3 - What price range are we looking at? Screen + ?

4 - Screen posters if a customer just wanted to put a screen up as a advertisement screen & not have LIVE Weather/News could we just use a multi media player?

Any advice would be a BIG help.

Regards
Chris

1. All you need is a pc, running Linux, Mac or Windows and have it connect online, that's it.
Our system is hardware independent. This means you can use any compatible PC you want.
We recommend you use our mediaBOX which is available here:

http://mediasignage.com/html/media_players.html

But of course you are free to use any Windows, Ubuntu or Mac powered device.
As for hardware specifications, it all depends on what you will be running. But for good performance with Videos and SWF animation, we recommend an Intel powered 2.6GHz Dual Core2 or better with 1GB of memory and 40GB storage.

2. the mediaBOX is great., very small and will drive 2 screens with HD, each one running a different presentation with everything, Weather, stocks, HD videos, swf animation etc...

3. Any screen will do, checkout Costco for good prices on screens

4.  You can use device, as long as it is Windows, Mac or Linux based.

The best way to learn about the system is to first watch the quick intro here:

Also, you can join us for a FREE Webinar this Thursday. It's a great way to learn how to use the system and you can also participate in a Q&A. You can register here:

Always glad to help,
