Campaign Creation
« on: April 25, 2011, 08:08:33 PM »
Hi,
Media signage product seems pretty amazing though I have some question.

I want to do the following,

1.  Create Timeline eg. 1 hour
2.  Add more than 100 resources

My Requirements,
1. When I add resources one by one by dragging them to the channel, is it possible to line them automatically.
    for example,  resource#1,#2,# with  duration 10, 30 , 20 restrictively. In the time line 0-9 , 10-39, 40-59 sec will
    be allocated respectively.
    OR,
is it possible to create the campaign playlist from a XML file or any other playlist (which is very much desirable).

2. Can I specify for a resources that how many times it will run in a timeline
3. Is it possible to play the the resources randomly in a timeline. I want to a different sequence each time it is
    played.

Thank you very much in advance.

1. You can do multi select to drag many resources at once, but they will all have the default length of 5 seconds.
you may want to checkout the Ad engine as you will be able to set resources to play at the specified length using set values. See here: http://www.mediasignage.com/html/reseller_video.html?videoNumber=AdEngineIntro

2. Yes you can, hold down the Control key, select multi and drop to timeline, OR, use the Catalog:

3. yes, you can set random, use the channel properties for that:

Thank you for you reply.
#3 solution is absolutely   match what I want.

#1 solution I will check (by the way is it possible to get access to the adengine for a limited period  without being an enterprise user )

#2 may be in the Addengine we can set the number of play for a resource. I am not quite sure. But the solution you mentioned dose not match my requirement. I am not talking about multiple resource to add in a channel/campaign but I want to add a resource , specify run 10 times in this timeline along with other resources (assume, all duration fit including the repeat  in timeline), so the the specific resource will be played 10 times randomly in that time.

Let me explain it more clearly,

1.  Time line duration 30 minutes

2. Resource property

         5 resources

               rc#1 (60sec) - 5 times
               rc#2 (60sec) - 5 times
               rc#3 (60sec) - 5 times
               rc#4 (60sec) - 5 times
               rc#5 (60sec) - 5 times

3. Create a campaign
drag all resources in the channel , the ouput on channel is like   rc#1 rc#2 rc#3 rc#4 rc#5

     set channel to play randomly.

4. Set the timeline on scheduler to be played next one week between 8:00 - 8:30 AM

5. Set the timeline on scheduler to be played next one week between 11:00 - 11:30 AM

So when it is played, each resource will be played at least 5 times randomly in that time line and each day on specified time  the play order is different each time.

#1,#3,#4  #5  can be done easily ,

#2 I am not sure how to do that. I saw in  Adengine video that one can set this property for an hour but not sure,  will it work as I need.

I hope I am clear with my requirement this time. Please let me know if you have question.

Thanks again for your support.

I think what you need, is the option of the channel property to "repeat to fit" which we support.
So you will ONLY set the first 5 resources manually and the rest of the 30 min will be filled with the same pattern.

that is not what i need,

if I have

               rc#1 (60sec) - 15 times
               rc#2 (60sec) - 1 times
               rc#3 (60sec) - 2 times
               rc#4 (60sec) - 7 times
               rc#5 (60sec) - 1 times

dose it fit  the 'REPEAT to FIT'   feature.

You would have to set the first 5 resources manually, and that's it, the rest will auto repeat...

Thank you for your reply.

OK I will place the 5 resources manually on the channel once then where I will set no. of play time for each content.

As I understand,

Repeat to fit  -  will loop through this five resources  , Do I have control on no. of play for each resource?

They will loop to the total length of the timeline
