External SWF/Image
« on: February 16, 2011, 01:10:55 AM »
I created a new scene and dragged an External swf from component to it. Edit its link as:

http://mydomain/mediasignage-cont/demo/ProImgGellary/gallery.swf

It works OK both in the studio scene editor and campaign's investigator. I could see all the images and all the functionalities were available.

The problem came when I upload(save), I got an error prompt:

Error was sent to server for further investigation.

sorry for the inconvenience

SubmitCtrl.mxml

[FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="Error #1088" faultCode="Client.CouldNotDecode" faultDetail="Unable to load WSDL. If currently online, please verify the URI and/or format of the WSDL (http://master.signage.me/MasterServer/NewAccountService.asmx?wsdl)"] messageId="F39F9F5A-E318-D5B3-29EA-2DABC8201F8D" type="fault" bubbles=false cancelable=true eventPhase=2]

And then it always said the upload could not be finished may due to the connection or maintenance of the server blablabla~~~

All in all, I failed to make use of External SWF, hope can get help here. Thanks a million.

1. Make sure you use both Studio and Player DESKTOP version (not web)
2. Under resources, be sure to mark your swf as "Trust this content" and save

Always glad to help,

Thank you, Eddie.

Actually it was NOT the case as that I upload my SWF on Resources panel.

Instead, it was in Scene editor, to add a new scene and dragging an External swf/image to the scene, and then editing its link~~~~ and there is no 'Trust this content' option for this case(probably I didn't find it???).

I just tried more times to upload(save), and finally it worked OK in desktop player.

Thanks a lot.

I test a little bit further, this time I used a swf built up with AS3.0 and it has 3D effect(with PV3D).

http://mydomainname/mediasignage-cont/demo/perspGallery/PPGallery_SWF.swf

I specified the above URL as an External swf/image 's link, and in the Scene editor, I could not see the flash, when I played it in desktop player, I could not either.

Even during the upload, I got the same errors as before.

Any suggestion to solve it?

Thanks.

I can only assume the lib has a conflict in the SDK with our SDK version...

Do you mean that paperVision3D conflicts with MediaSignage's Flash SDK?

Since it is an external SWF, then it is already compiled when being played, and its compilation has nothing to do with MediaSignage studio, and then has nothing to do with SDK, I don't quite understand your answer..... In my opinion, we only utilize Signage Player as a player.

Dear Admin,

According to your words, those flash applications without PV3D SDK should work ok in signage player. And here I got one relatively simple application, it only employs tweening engine:

http://s3.envato.com/files/1560319/preview.swf

And would you please tell how to play it in signage player as an external SWF, and if failed, please tell why is that. Thanks. Please do not say ' mark trust this content' or something like that, or just give a link of video tutorial.
