Resources...How are they made available on Server version?
« on: January 29, 2011, 09:01:24 AM »
Do the resources (media files, backgrounds, masks, shared, etc.) that come with the cloud version also come when purchasing the Media Server version?  If so, are they shipped with the software or are they downloadable?  And what about RSS feeds? Updates?

The templates are included, during the install of the mediaSERVER you can pick if to download all templates or not... the rest will be in release 3.0 of the server due late march (just haven't gotten to adding everything yet, but it's coming)

We upgraded to version 3 and none of the resources are showing up.  Will this be an update that can be downloaded similar to the templates?

Are you referring to the shared resources and shared scenes?
and if so yes, these will be available later this summer as imports from the mediaCLOUD.

You would mark the upload resource as "public" under it's properties

Any update on when the MediaServer version will be able to get access to Scenes templates like Weather, Clocks, RRS feeds.  Can you copy scene for the templates into new campaigns?

I'd like to know if this is available also and if so how to implement. I really wish the developers would ease up on the new features for a minute and make media server equal to media cloud as is being advertised. Either that or stop saying they are equal on the website.

The mediaSERVER 4.0 does include all components as the mediaCLOUD.
Shared resources are not part of the mediaSERVER (for now) but templates are.

Regards.
